I like it with the bottom panels panted the same color as the rest of the car. But still not my cup of tea.

I grew out of the hole FWD honda scene to RWD supra's and GTR's. don't get me wrong tho, I still love a high HP vtec engine.
BMW's have never tickled my fancy or made my mouth drop but I do respect them in the car scene.
This car says Don all over it!

AHAHAHA, but hmmm... didn't you had that E30? Or was it someone else. I'm confused now Oh noo... you were driving that nice Supra

LIES!!
No I have never owned a E30. I use to drive a 2000 Honda SIR and then I had a Jeep Grand Cherokee Hemi for the winter but never a BMW.

Ahh c'mon Don, the E30 was mine!
But if you're going E36 compact, for GODS SAKE be sure to get a 323ti.
And no, it's not just because of the 2.5L 6 cylinder M52 engine.
But the 323ti's have reinforcements made to the rear subframe, and have better rust protection from the factory. So you're more likely to find one in good condition.
Also, the 323ti with M50 intake manifold, and a good exhaust (complete with equal length header) should make around 210hp from the stock 170.
The reason being the M52's are bottlenecked in the intake and exhaust from the factory. When comparign the M50 and M52 intakes. The M50's runners are larger, and better designed, so not only a larger ammount of air can travel through it, but also at higher speed. Thats a win - win situation

YEAHH! It was you! Your names look alike =.=
But is the 316 that worse? :$

First of all, the engine in the 316 is pure crap.
The M40 and M43's are generally considered some of the worst engines BMW ever made, along with their turbo diesels after the M21 (their tds engines have a tendency to crack the head, and blow the turbo ).
And if it's because you want a car thats more economical, then the 323 actually gets better milage because of the sequential fuel injection and Vanos (their version of VTec).. Ohh that, and it's a hugely more modern engine. The M40's where designed back in the 80'ies, and the predecessor to the M43 (M42B1 was even used in the E30 (the 318IS).
But the normal 316 is the older M40, which is even SOHC

316- 1:16,9
323- 1:14,5

Hmmm all I can say about that, is the the 316 in real life doesnt do more than 11km/l, where the 323 does around 12.5 km/l (the engine doesnt have to work as hard as the 316).
-----------
|
|
That's indeed not a big difference. It's way to much for me then. Search something in the 15km/l-20km/l range

Movie was called The Chase and starred Charlie Sheen.
QuoteThe car used by Charlie Sheen throughout most of the film is a red BMW E36 325iS (Natalie's car), however during some parts of love-making scene between him and Swanson, it is shot in a larger BMW E34 5 Series.

Yep I've seen it aswell, they used to air it on german TV.
But the car is a E36 Coupé and not a Compact
-----------
|
|
|
We have a lot of Compacts come into the garage and they all suffer from the same issue. Front dampers are shite. In the last 2 months I've had to change around 10 dampers on these things. And I can't say I'd ever want one, they just look incomplete. I get that it was BMW trying to tempt people away from Hot Hatches, but they look silly.
-----------
|
|
Agreed, it looks like they wanted to build a coupé, got the rear end, and just didnt bother to finish it.
As for the suspension, the compact shares more suspension parts with the E30 than the other E36's (every bit is bolt on to the E30 <-> Compact ect.). And E30 pre-facelift have the same problem with crappy dampers. On the E30 however, it's a problem on all four corners

ill be honest, i like the way they look
